Cataract Surgery

Cataract is one of the most common pathologies today due to the increase in life expectancy.

When the lens (natural intraocular lens) grows older, it loses its transparency and elasticity and begins to opacify. The patient begins to feel decreased vision, difficulty driving at night by having many reflections with the headlights of cars and difficulty reading because they need more light intensity. That’s when you go to the doctor’s office and diagnose cataracts.

The current treatment is surgical and the intervention involves removing the lens and placing another intraocular lens in place.
Today, depending on the characteristics and expectations of the patient, we can access multifocal lenses (diffractive bifocals with depth of focus and trifocals) and last-generation lenses with an extended range of vision, which allow the patient to see better quality in all the distances.
