Intravitreal Inyection

Antiangiogenic intravitreal injection. It is a new drug used in macular degeneration associated with aging such as retinal vein thrombosis and macular edema in diabetic patients.

In these diseases, there is a loss of vision that involves the emergence of new blood vessels.This ambulatory surgery, is performed in OR filling the eye with specific substances acting against these new blood vessels (Eylea or Lucentis) can be combined with injections of Ozurdex (a new anti-inflammatory that potentiate the effect of previous drug). A protocol exists in this treatment, repeat injections are commonly frequent to slow down the development
